1 year as a New Product Developer
As Brianna celebrates her 1 year Anniversary with us as New Product Developer, we thought it would be a good chance to ask her some questions about her role…
What would you say is the best part of your job?
Being able to experiment with literally any baking ingredient, we have some amazing ingredient suppliers who do such a variety of flavours and inclusions.
What’s the most exciting project you’ve worked on?
Definitely a bespoke summer cookie that we developed for a client; everyone loves it!
Have you ever been asked to create something that you didn’t think would work but it did?
Yes, a matcha and white chocolate cookie. My past record of using matcha in baking hasn’t been too successful but this worked out and the client gave their approval!
Do you have a funny / embarrassing office story to share with us?
Not really, but most days I leave my door fob on my desk and have to do a walk of shame back up the stairs to retrieve it so that I can actually get through the door. I’m quite good at dropping stuff in the middle of the office too, much to everyone’s amusement.
What’s the best advice someone has given you?
To not worry about making mistakes – the first trial of a new flavour is never going to be perfect, so just embracing the constructive criticism in order to make the best product we can.
And finally, what’s your favourite sweet treat?
Classic chocolate chunk cookie, it never gets old!
